Do you have an MSD prevention strategy based on ergonomic risk assessment?
Several organizations have a slogan like “Goal: 0 accidents”.
This slogan should instead be replaced by “Objective: 0 risks!” “.
Because to eliminate accidents, you must first eliminate risks. Indeed, the action plans of successful companies rely on the assessment of ergonomic risks. After assessing the tasks and workstations, you will need to prioritize your actions on the workstations most at risk, your “red” and your “orange”. You will then be able to concentrate on eliminating or controlling ergonomic risks and modulators at targeted workstations.
Note that the strategy and actions put in place to manage ergonomic risks are always more effective when they are integrated into existing and effective programs within the organization (e.g.: continuous improvement, quality, etc.). We therefore encourage you to take the time to clearly establish a strategy based on ergonomic risk assessments. You can then integrate it into your current processes.
“Occupational health and safety is risk management.
MSD prevention is ergonomic risk management.”
